Located on the northern part of east Cuba, between Las Tunas and Guatanamo, the province of Holguin has a great tourist potential thanks to the international beach resorts of Guardalavaca, Pesquero, Esmeralda and many others. Beaches here are amongst the most spectacular in the Caribbean, due to the natural coral barriers, and the contrast between the green vegetation and the blue-toned waters. In addition to the beauty of nature, one must count on the friendliness and sense of hospitality of the locals.

It was precisely in this region that Christopher Columbus landed in 1492 and pronounced the famous phrase that has identified Cuba all over the world: “This is the most beautiful land ever contemplated by human eyes”.
